On February 27th, the Bishop White community joined the parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spokane Valley for Sunday mass. Rector Fr. Darrin Connall was the celebrant. This parish visit has particular significance to Fr. Connall. St. Mary’s was his parish growing up, and it was the pastor at the time, then Fr. Robert Pearson, who encouraged him to investigate a potential vocation to the priesthood. Fr. Connall is the latest priestly vocation from the parish. Msgr. Pearson is currently the senior priest in residence at the seminary.
The Bishop White Schola, directed by Colin Pickettof the Diocese of Yakima, contributed to the liturgy by singing a post-Communion hymn. Following the mass, the seminarians and rector met with parishioners during offee and donuts. The formation of seminarians is a major beneficiary of the Annual Catholic Appeal, and the entire seminary community is most grateful for the generosity of those who contribute. The seminary typically visits a parish every semester in part to help put faces on the tremendous investment placed by the people of the diocese in seminarians and future priests.
